Minnesota: Deadly Traffic Monitor: Lions die after police shots – News Overseas

Sunday afternoon (local time) a police officer shot and killed a black downright on the streets of Brooklyn Center (30,000 residents, Minnesota) as part of routine traffic control – heavily armed special forces and protesters marching in the streets.

Police confirmed the accident. Accordingly, the 20-year-old Wright was stopped at around 2 p.m. in his car to monitor traffic. During the search, the police noticed that Wright had an arrest warrant. They were said to have tried to arrest him.

But the driver escaped arrest, jumped into his car and drove off.

It is not currently known whether the driver died from a gunshot or collision with the other vehicle. The passenger survived the accident and suffered no life-threatening injuries. A police officer was also reported to have been injured.

According to the authorities, the police were wearing cameras while on duty. It is said that the driving camera of one of the police cars has been activated.

Aubrey Wright, 42, identified the deceased as her son. He recently borrowed $ 50 of hers and was on his way to the car wash, according to The Washington Post.

The first protesters rose around 7 pm. According to local radio “Fox 9”. The police crossed the tape and approached the security forces.

Mayor Mike Elliott described the events as “tragic” on Twitter. In addition: “We call on the protesters to continue their peaceful behavior.” He also demanded: The police must not use force against peaceful people.

However: at least one protester was shot in the head by the police – who had to be treated medically.

The first policemen left in the evening, but the protesters followed. He called the victim’s name, and they went to the city police station.

Similarities with George Floyd

The demonstrators are demanding justice and a full investigation into the incident. Many flags of the “Black Lives Matter” which gained international fame in the wake of the murder of George Floyd († 46).

George Floyd also died in Minnesota. There is only about 20 kilometers between the crime scene. The trial of murderous cop Derek Chauvin, 45, is currently underway in Minneapolis. In May 2020, he kneeled on the neck of long-handcuffed George Floyd until he died.
